A performance by the collective Tender Motor, starting from choreovocality, where the voice functions as the primary choreographic and performative material. Tender Motor uses the voice both as a tool and as a site for exploring gender and the human, in order to find the gaps and fissures in our politicised, socialised and ideologised bodies and voices. Through radical trust in the process, in one another and in the collective, affective and mutating force that defines the body, the performance practice extends inwards and outwards, continuously carried by expansive, soft, pulsating, rhythmic, yearning, joyful, vibrating and listening forms and sounds.

Tender Motor (durational), is a contiuation of the performance Tender Motor (2025). It was performed for 3-hours within the EXTENDED festival, at Museum of Contemporary Art, Zagreb (2026). The group traveled from Stockholm to Zagreb by train and back, as a way to make an extended sense of time leak into their life and collective art practice. Tender Motor (durational) is part of the artistic research project Sonorous dances and reverberant matters (2025-2026), situated within Stockholm University of the Art’s.

EXTENDED FESTIVAL
The art organization Istovremeno/Samtempe, in collaboration with the Museum of Contemporary Art, presents the first Extended festival, which opens up space for durational performances realized across different media – from contemporary dance, performance, and media art, to sound art, theatre, and various hybrid formats. The title implies extended duration, a departure from established modes of watching, creating, and performing. Read more: https://zg-muv.hr/en/program/extended-festival-opening-discursive-programme/

Tender Motor is a non-disciplinary performance trio with backgrounds in visual arts, poetry, choreography, dance and art curation. The group consists of Kajsa Wadhia, Moa Franzén, and Tove Salmgren, a collaboration that has been exploring performance art and choreography since 2018 at the intersection of sound, breath, and movement. The group composes, improvises, and creates live works, curated events, and publications based on a radically process-oriented method that integrates all aspects of their lives into their shared artistic practice. Since January 2025, the group has been running the two-year research project Sonorous Dances and Reverberant Matters, supported by Stockholm University of the Arts’ internal artistic research program. The work of Tender Motor takes the form of choreovocality as point of departure, where the voice works as the primal choreographic and performative material. Tender motor uses the voice both as a tool and a place to explore gender and the human in order to find gaps and cracks in the highly politicized, socialized and ideologized body. Through radical trust in process, in one another, and in the collective, affective, and mutating force that defines the body, their performance practice weaves inward and outward, continuously carried by expansive, soft, pulsating, rhythmic, desiring, joyous, vibrating, and listening forms and sounds. https://www.tendermotor.com/about/
