“Scents and Crevices: Archival Readings” is an ongoing artistic research collaboration between Darko Dragičević and Martin Sonderkamp, drawing on a shared archive accumulated over more than ten years of artistic collaboration. Their approach is an artistic conversation with shared archival material through which they choreograph correspondences between artefacts. One concrete method within this is a staggered process of transformation in which experiences of moving through two different cities become photographs, photographs become words, words become drawings, drawings become sound pieces, sound pieces become video. Each stage opens new sensorial and associative possibilities. Scents names following what can be sensed rather than classified, and points to the traces and residues that resist full documentation. Crevices refers to what this following passes through: gaps that appear at different scales, fissures, pores, hairlines or cracks.
“Scents and Crevices: Archival Readings” comprises five parts: “Week-in-Photos”, “Week-in-Words”, “Week-in-Drawings”, “Week-in-Sounds”, and “Week-in-Lines.”
For the public occasion on 17 June, 2026, the artists Matilda Bilberg, Oda Brekke and Tove Salmgren was invited to enter into conversation with elements of our archive as it meets the particular architecture of CCap.
